Ready for the Holidays

On Thursday both the AM and PM classes came to school at the same time. We had a great day. We brought food items upstairs to put them in a box of food to be donated to people who need it, decorated cookies, and made a giant graph to see what season is TPCA's favorite (summer!) It was a great time and now I hope everyone has a wonderful break!

Ornaments and Garland

This week we have been working on a variety of festive things for the holidays. Today we made garland in the morning class and ornaments in the afternoon class. Both activities were so much fun and now everyone can go home and decorate!

Secret Santa

This past week the teachers did something called Secret Santa. What we do is we draw a name of a teacher and then we get them little presents all week but we don't tell them who we are. Then, on Friday we had a big breakfast and everyone found out who their Secret Santa was. I learned that my Secret Santa was Mr. Buchman and do you know what he got me...a Broncos hat. Hmmmph. He also wore Broncos stickers under his eyes to look like a football player. He told me that I have to wear the hat on our dress of choice day next week. So, I am going to "enhance" it and will wear it on Thursday!

The Gingerbread Hunt

We read The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Girl, and Gingerbread Friends and when we went to eat our own gingerbread cookies, we realized they were missing. We saw a trail of crumbs leading out the door so we knew the worst had happened...our gingerbread men had run away. Mr. Moe told us that they were in his room watching Planet Earth, but then left. Mr. Birch's dog puppet told us "Arf, Arf"??? Mrs. Bishop and the 4th graders told us that they were in their class but left and went to the auditorium but Mr. Johnson had not seen them. Mrs. Putrah saw them and we even noticed some sprinkles in her office but they were not there. Mr. Bean said they were reading in the library but then went to Mrs. Rhoades room since it was quieter. Mrs. Coombe let us look around the health office, but no luck there either. Finally, our 3rd grade buddies came to the rescue. When the cookies ran into their room, they blocked the doors and trapped them! We were then able to share the cookies with our 3rd grade buddies!

I'm Back...

I missed seeing you guys today but I was stuck at the border between Mexico and the United States for a very long time and missed my flight (by the way...does anyone know the name of the river that separates Mexico and the USA??) While I was in Mexico I got to do some cool things. I saw a lot of wild animals and I got to ride around the ranch on top of a truck! We were in a desert part of Mexico so you can see animals like deer, bobcats, mountain lions (only if you are lucky), javelinas, rattlesnakes, and coyotes. You can also go fishing on the big lake for bass. The name of the ranch we went to is El Gato which is spanish for "The Cat". At the ranch we keep some deer in pens and we were able to pet them. When my stepbrother David was petting one, it bit his finger hard Ikind of like when we stick out finger in Deuce McAllister's cage!)
