Airplanes and Armadillos

This weekend I was able to go back to Louisiana for my stepbrother’s birthday. The first interesting thing that happened is that I was the only person on the airplane! It was so funny. I sat all the way in the very back all by myself. When I got to the birthday party, we got to go on a hayride through the farm. We saw deer and possums and we saw 3 armadillos. Since we don’t have armadillos in Colorado I thought you might like to see a picture of one. Armadillo is a Spanish word meaning “little armored one” because armadillos look like they are wearing armor- like a knight!

I didn't know that about the origin of the word armadillo. That's so adorable!!!!
And I am so jealous that you got to go home!

Armadillo - a big fancy word for one funny looking animal who digs lots of holes in your yard and eats all of your vegetables in your garden. Thanks for sharing what else it means! I am also jealous that you got to go home. I could have kept you company while you slept on the airplane. Glad you had a good time!
